Individual Therapy

Relate and Recover’s philosophy of treatment is an integrative approach that meets clients where they are at, while supporting them towards the goals they have chosen for therapy.

·      Are you noticing old patterns, habits or cycles that are holding you back from where you want to be?

·      Is unresolved trauma, depression and anxiety impacting your relationship with others and yourself?

·      Do you find yourself feeling more stressed and unable to attend to day-to-day life in the way you want?

·      Are you not sure where to start and feel lost and frustrated?

Psychotherapy is a supportive process that allows a client to unpack and explore their belief systems, behaviours and strategies that get in the way of living in the present.

I often hear clients say, “I don’t want to live in the past, I want to just forget and move on!” It can be challenging when we are stuck in a cycle, which leads to  over-compensation, followed by over-exhaustion or feeling drained all the time, feeling shame in some way and leaving you in your head questioning everything. No one is exempt from these experiences – this is a human being problem.  We all have our ways of getting pulled back and washed through those waves.

Within the therapeutic relationship, we will collaborate and figure out the best plan on how to move forward and navigate your process of growth and choice. This may be useful for individuals who are healing from trauma, abuse, addiction, heartbreak, anger, stress and other challenges.

Individuals report the following changes in their lives:

·      Feeling less out of control and are able to recognize when they need to resource for their own emotional regulation and safety

·      Feeling more grounded and present

·      Feeling more satisfied and comfortable in life and relationships

·      Connecting to their sexual desires, interests and expressions

·      Experiencing life from a more curious, exploratory and mindful presence

·      Being able to excel at work and have more of a work/life balance
